About Music Education
If you are considering a degree in music, chances are you’ve had an inspiring music teacher in your life. Think about your favorite teachers and how they encouraged you and made you feel important. Music teachers play a huge role in connecting and guiding students through music-making.
At Converse, we will prepare you to teach for the traditional experiences of band, choir, orchestra, and elementary music. Our rigorous coursework will have you prepared to enter the field with confidence and hands-on teaching experience.
We will prepare you for the non-traditional music classroom through our modern band experience. Modern band is where you’ll learn to teach culturally relevant and popular music through whatever instruments and technology you may have. Whether traditional or contemporary, we will prepare you to be the next inspiring music teacher.
